Three injured after South Korean plane bound for HK catches fire at Busan airport

A fire erupted on an Air Busan flight in South Korea that was set to bound for Hong Kong on Tuesday, prompting the evacuation of 169 passengers and seven crew members.

Fire authorities said three people sustained non-life-threatening injuries while evacuating, according to Yonhap.

The aircraft preparing for takeoff from the main runway of Gimhae International Airport in Busan caught fire at its tail around 10.30 pm.

A fire official said the fire apparently started inside the tail end of the plane and later spread to the fuselage of the craft.

"We believe all 176 people have evacuated, but we are searching inside the craft just in case," the official added.
