The MTR Corporation announced on Monday afternoon that a signaling fault near Nam Cheong station caused delays on the Tung Chung Line and the Airport Express, with trains delayed by approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
Additionally, the deadline for the In-town Check-in Service at Hong Kong Station and Kowloon Station has been extended from 90 minutes to 180 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure time, until further notice.
The MTR Corporation stated that its personnel were addressing the incident and urged passengers to allow sufficient time for their journeys and to consider using alternative routes.
At 6.34 pm the MTR confirmed that the signal failure at Nam Cheong Station has been repaired, and services on the Airport Express and Tung Chung Line are gradually returning to normal.
