CLP Power said the power supply was fully restored shortly after midnight following a partial outage which affected some 2,250 households in Wong Tai Sin on Wednesday night.
The power company said the partial outage came around 8 pm due to a fault in the 11kW underground power supply system in the district. The supply was fully restored at 12.11 am, it added.
CLP apologized to affected citizens and said an investigation into the cause of the incident will ensue.
The government issued a statement late Wednesday night saying it was very concerned about the electrical incident in Wong Tai Sin.
“Residents were trapped in lifts and might have had an uncomfortable night during this hot weather.”
The government also said it had requested CLP to carry out the repair work as soon as possible and reminded the company to provide information to residents on the latest progress of the repair from time to time.
