A man was slashed by two assailants in Wong Tai Sin early Monday morning in a suspected triad dispute.
Around midnight today, a man was leaving the parking lot after he parked his car at King Kung House in Choi Wan Estate when a vehicle suddenly approached, with two knife-wielding men getting out.
Saying nothing, they attacked the man with bladed weapons before fleeing in the vehicle.
His female friend contacted the police immediately after they left.
Rescue workers arrived at the scene, conducted emergency first aid on site, and took the man, who was suffering injuries to his hand, leg, and back, to the United Christian Hospital for medical attention while in a conscious state.
About half an hour later, an onlooker reported a burning car on the pedestrian walkway near University Roads.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and put out the fire.
After a preliminary investigation, the firefighters believed that the cause of the fire was suspicious, and the police thought that the car burning was related to the injury case at Choi Wan Estate.
They suspect that someone attempted to burn the car to destroy evidence after committing the crime.
The police classified the two cases as wounding and arson, respectively, and are looking for the whereabouts of the knifeman.
It is understood that the victim had a background working with the 14K Triad.
In April this year, he had a dispute with Tsuen Wan Wo Shing Wo at Minden Row in Tsim Sha Tsui, and it is suspected that he was retaliated against for this.
