Elderly woman dies after choking on biscuit

A 65-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital after she choked on a biscuit and lost consciousness in Tseung Kwan O. She was pronounced dead after 10 hours of resuscitation.

Around 8 am on Tuesday (Apr 9), the woman - surnamed Chung - was suspected to have choked while eating some biscuits at her apartment in Ho Ming Court on Kai King Road.

She was taken to the Tseung Kwan O Hospital in an unconscious state.

Chung was pronounced dead at 6.11 pm on the same day.

The case was listed as "person collapsed" by the police.
