On Ho's social media page today, she said that to promote fertility and create a childbearing environment, the Chief Executive rolled out various measures to support families with newborns during his last political address.
The Families with Newborns Allocation Priority Scheme mentioned in the policy address was finally rolled out today.
Under the scheme, public rental housing family applications with babies born on or after October 25, 2023, and aged one or below are eligible to be credited with one year of waiting time, allowing them to be allocated a public housing unit earlier.
This was one of the two schemes mentioned in the policy address to promote birth rates in collaboration with the Housing Authority, while the Families with Newborns Flat Selection Priority Scheme is believed to be rolled out alongside the Home Ownership Scheme 2024.
