It’s official! Exotic crocodile found in Pat Heung has a name

After an online poll, an exotic crocodile found in Lin Fa Tei of Pat Heung last year has a name.

People can now say hello to Passion, a Siamese Crocodile now housed at Ocean Park’s crocodile enclosure. The female crocodile, measuring approximately 1.9m in length and weighing around 35kg, will meet with visitors starting this Saturday.

The name Passion, was chosen by the public from four other names including Bo Bo, Harmony, Hope, and Lotus.

Paulo Pong Kin-yee, chairman of Ocean Park Corporation, said the new exclosure is located at the entrance of the park and can be accessed for free, making the animal the first thing visitors would encounter when they arrived.

Pong wished to, through the story of Passion, educate people about the impact on the local ecosystem by introducing invasive species to Hong Kong, particularly aggressive ones.
