A video was posted online on Thursday showing a container truck crushing an empty sedan in Fanling, leading to a discussion online.
According to the video, which was recorded yesterday (Feb 28) at 10.36 am, a cargo truck was driving along Man Kam To Road and was about to turn right and enter a container yard.
However, it is suspected that the driver either turned too fast or the container was not secured well as the container on the vehicle leaned to the right and caused the whole truck to tip over.
A sedan parked near the area was flattened by the 40-foot-long container.
The 43-year-old truck driver did not suffer any injuries and did not have to be hospitalized.
Later, many people were seen at the scene taking photos to keep a record.
The driver of the sedan, surnamed Cheng, later arrived at the scene and contacted the police for assistance. It is understood that they have decided to handle the compensation in private.
After the video was posted online, it led many people to talk about how lucky it was that the driver was not in the sedan and was able to avoid serious injuries or even death.
