HKMA/ HKT Global Innovation Award 2024 calls for entries

Organized by the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA), the highly anticipated second edition of the HKMA/HKT Global Innovation Award 2024 is now officially open for entries.

It’s all systems go for the much-awaited second edition of the HKMA/HKT Global Innovation Award 2024. A kick-off ceremony marked the beginning of an exciting journey that celebrates and recognizes innovative initiatives from Hong Kong, the Mainland, and overseas with outstanding achievements in five key innovation areas: Product & Service Innovation, Process Innovation, Business Model Innovation, Platform Innovation, and Social Impact Innovation. 

The industry has responded enthusiastically to the award’s first edition, attracting over 230 entries, including non-local entries from the Mainland, Israel, Italy, Singapore, Spain, and the United States.

“To support the National 14th Five-Year Plan to develop Hong Kong into an international innovation and technology hub, HKMA proudly launched the inaugural HKMA/HKT Global Innovation Award in 2022/23 and the HKMA Global Innovation Day in June 2023 with resounding success,” said Dr Y K Pang GBS JP, Chairman of HKMA.

Ir Sunny Lee BBS JP, Award Organizing Committee Chairman, highlighted Global Innovation Day and explained the award’s significance to the city’s development.

“To keep the business community abreast of the latest developments in innovation and technology, HKMA launched its first HKMA Global Innovation Day last year,” he said. “The event attracted 1,400 executives, and such a remarkable level of enthusiastic engagement is truly a testament to our city’s great reputation as a hub for innovation and technology.”

Following the ceremony, there was a networking session and award briefing. Mr. Jack Zhou, Staff Algorithm Engineer from Alibaba DAMO Academy for Discovery, Adventure, Momentum, and Outlook, gave a keynote speech and shared his insights with the audience on the prospects and uses of AI in the intelligent conversation systems, recommendation systems, and search systems of AliME and Tmall Genies.

In addition, a thorough overview of the Awards was provided by Ir. Sunny Lee and members of the Award Organizing Committee, including Prof. Viveca Chan, Chairman & CEO of WE Marketing Group, and Mr. Arnold Leung, Chief Executive Officer of Appnovation. The review was followed by a sharing session from the Immigration Department and Airport Authority Hong Kong.

Entries for the esteemed HKMA/HKT Global Innovation Award 2024 are currently being accepted until the deadline of May 22, 2024.

Founded in 1960, HKMA is a professional non-profit organization with the goal of developing human capital via management education and training at all levels. Every year, the association provides more than 50,000 participants with more than 2,000 management development programs and activities.
