Fourteen injured after crash in To Kwa Wan

Fourteen people were injured following a crash involving a bus and a minibus on Ma Tau Chung Road in To Kwa Wan on Friday morning. 

The incident occurred around 7 am. Live sources said the Hung Hom-bound route 11K bus was traveling along Ma Tau Chung Road and stopped before a red light outside Sung Wong Toi Garden. 

The minibus, running from Lam Tin and Jordan, suspectedly didn’t apply the brakes in time and rammed into the rear end of the bus. 

The minibus driver surnamed Lee said the bus stopped very abruptly at the time and he had already crashed into the bus when it stopped. 

Lee further said all passengers remained in their seats after the collision and no one was thrown out of the vehicle. 

It is understood that 14 people including the two drivers sustained minor injuries. Lee, a male, and a female passenger were treated on the spot and refused to be hospitalized. 

The bus captain and 10 other minibus passengers were then sent to Kwong Wah Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. 

Police investigation is now underway.
