Emergency services were alerted to Lamma Island after residents reported a landslide near Pak Kok San Tsuen at around 1 pm on Friday.
The firefighters arrived at the scene to assist, and fortunately, no one was injured.
Photos posted online by District Councilor Lau Shun-ting showed a large landslide sweeping towards the shore, with a tin sheet house on the brink of collapse, narrowly avoiding destruction.
Lau also shared additional photos of other areas affected by the torrential rain, with certain roads collapsing and having to be cordoned off by the firefighters, leaving pedestrians to find alternative routes.
Many village houses on the island were also seriously flooded after heavy rains, and some elderly villagers had to use buckets to continuously clear the water from their homes.
