A 30-year-old driver was arrested on Tuesday night after police seized about 2 kg of suspected marijuana in his van and other drugs worth some HK$400,000 in Aberdeen.
Police set up roadblocks at the intersection between Repulse Bay Road and Belleview Drive around 10 pm last night and intercepted the suspicious vehicle.
Officers first smelled marijuana coming from the van and conducted a thorough search. They then found 2 kg of marijuana, 16 boxes of cannabis candy, 36 cannabidiol (CBD) oil e-cigarettes, and a small amount of ketamine powder.
The drugs were worth about HK$400,000.
The driver, Wong, also tested positive when police performed the saliva drug test on him. He was then arrested for trafficking dangerous drugs and driving under the influence.
