Large crowds lined up before the Expo started to grab discounted products such as HK$1 abalones and other items on sale.
A visitor surnamed Yu, who won a total of 500 canned abalones with others in a game, said she would enjoy the gifts for every meal and will share some with her relatives.
Some stated there are many more visitors compared to last year due to the relaunch of sample tasting, since they could determine whether the product tastes good before buying.
Exhibitors said there has been a significant increase in visitors and hoped to get a 20 percent increase in business.
The Food Expo will run for five days, including today. The first four days will be open from 10 am to 10 pm, and the closing day will end earlier at 6 pm.
