Worker hospitalized after hand caught in conveyor belt

A worker was taken to the hospital Friday afternoon after she injured her hand in Tsing Yi.

Shortly before 2 pm today, a worker was working on the conveyor belts at an express center located on Goodman Interlink when she accidentally caught her hand in the belt.

Her coworkers, who saw the incident, immediately called the police for assistance.

The firefighters rescued the worker before paramedics took her to Princess Margaret Hospital for medical attention. The injured worker's hand was seen to be bright red and incredibly swollen.

The police have listed the case as an industrial accident and handed it over to the labor department.
