Customs recently busted a smuggling operation at West Kowloon Station where a woman attempted to take 40 beauty injections into the mainland by taping them to her legs.
According to local reports on Wednesday, Customs officers noticed something suspicious when carrying out a routine inspection of the woman's luggage. Upon opening her bags, they found 20 empty boxes of Ellanse injectable anti-aging implant.
Officers also noticed that the woman was nervous therefore conducted a search of her person before discovering 40 Ellanse injections strapped to her legs and hidden under her long skirt.
The case has been handed over to the Customs Disposal Unit for follow-up.
A Customs spokesman reminded the public that under Chinese laws, anyone who transports, delivers, carries, or posts restricted and prohibited articles or taxable goods and bypasses customs inspection commits a smuggling act.
