Au, alongside his teammates, drove the Porsche 911 GT3 R to compete with more than 70 other cars and claimed a well-deserved victory in the Bronze Cup at the Belgian Circuit on his fourth visit to the event.
The team, also comprising Matteo Cairoli, Tim Heinemann and Jannes Fittje, starts the race on Friday in the pole position. It is also the first car outside the Pro category to take the pole at Spa for ten years.
Au and his teammates performed excellently and remained in the battle for Bronze Cup victory the entire race, finishing on top after the 24 hours were up, with Heinemann also setting the fastest lap of the race at 2:17.087 seconds.
After retiring from the race the previous year due to his injury, Au faced this race with the urge to win the championship and resolved his regrets.
He focused on learning the track and racecar after joining a new team by participating in and winning the International GT Open last month to adjust his mentality for the race.
Huber Motorsport was able to gain the maximum points for the IGTC International Cup with the Bronze Cup class win.
