The Hospital Authority (HA) said on Friday (Dec 5) that all patients admitted following the Wang Fuk Court fire in Tai Po have improved, with those previously in critical condition now stabilised.
A total of 79 patients received treatment across public hospitals, 19 of whom had been classified as critical due to severe burns, smoke inhalation or respiratory injuries.
As of 6pm Friday, 30 remain hospitalised, six in serious condition and 24 stable, while 49 have been discharged.
The HA confirmed that full medical fee waivers will be provided for all Wang Fuk Court residents until Dec 31, 2026. The waiver covers in-patient services, family medicine and specialist out-patient clinics (including psychiatry SOPCs), accident and emergency services, day hospitals, day procedures, community services, and Chinese Medicine Clinics cum Training and Research Centres under the HA.
“All hospitalised patients have shown significant improvement. Our staff will continue to provide care and psychological support to help them recover,” the HA said.
