Ngong Ping 360 has recorded its strongest post-pandemic performance in overseas markets with international visitor numbers reaching new highs in the first quarter this year.
The attraction reported a 12.3 percent year-on-year increase in average daily visitors from short- and long-haul international markets between January and March, marking a post-pandemic record.
International travelers accounted for 51.3 percent of all guests during the period, followed by mainland Chinese visitors at 30 percent and local residents at 20 percent.
The surge was particularly pronounced ahead of the Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament.
In the three days leading up to the event, international guest numbers jumped 23 percent compared to the same period last year, making up 64.6 percent of attendance.
James Tung Pui-chuen, managing director of Ngong Ping 360, attributed the growth to targeted marketing and Hong Kong’s resurgence as an events hub.
“I believe that with the government's continued promotion of the mega events economy, along with our in-depth promotions across various regional markets, we can attract more guests from around the world to experience Hong Kong's charm,” Tung said.
For the upcoming Labor Day holiday, Ngong Ping 360 expects increased visitors and plans targeted marketing campaigns in Shenzhen metro lines and promotions encouraging off-peak visits among Greater Bay Area seniors.
The company will also provide sales training for travel agencies in the region to improve the promotion of the attraction.
