Global Sources Consumer Electronics and Mobile Electronics exhibitors showcased a variety of latest technology and products at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong last week.
Technology shapes our everyday lives. Some of the most revolutionary products were gathered in the trade fair.
Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (GCCEI), a government-sponsored technology start-up incubator from South Korea had brought iconic indigeneous innovations to the Hong Kong exhibition.
Forward head posture is a common cause of musculoskeletal pain among the urban population, considering the long screen time in daily life. DOT STAND, an ergonomically designed robotic monitor stand invented by DOTHEAL Co. Ltd., was another exhibit introduced by the center at the show in aims of promoting healthy lifestyles and enhancing the workplace.
The stand allows a constantly changing position of the monitor to avoid a fixed posture that leads to neck pain and fatigue. A frontal 3D time-of-flight (ToF) sensor can recognize the user’s posture and range of joint movement and automatically optimize the movement speed and trajectory of the stand in a motor-powered telescopic linear motion. It then provides customized training for more than 12 weeks. To install the stand, fix it on the edge of the desk with the enclosed clamp and connect it with a VESA monitor weighing less than 4kg. The product works best with a desk depth of 700mm or more and it comes with a sleep mode. It improves work efficiency by relieving pain and saving time and costs for potential medical treatment.
Smart city technology is becoming a rising trend in recent years. SMT Co. Ltd. has been focusing on Internet of things (IoT) solutions and has developed SE-1 ATOM, a high-precision calculator designed to support a range of measurement functionalities for remote reading. The metering device allows flexibility in its integration with the heating and cooling systems to monitor thermal energy consumption, inlet and outlet temperature, volumetric flow rate, and pressure, with up to four communication interfaces, including Bluetooth, M-Bus and Modbus. It is also capable of leak detection and water quality monitoring.
The product includes three registered patents related to meter testing and control in South Korea. Incorporated with the essential functions, the device can act as a gateway in IoT infrastructure through various means of wireless communication – NB-IoT, LoRa, LTE Cat. M1, and local protocol – suitable for applications at office buildings, commercial centers and shopping malls. Program stability and security are recognized by the OIML D-31 certification.
Wo-smart Technologies (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. specializes in smart wearable design and manufacturing. Targeting consumers with higher health consciousness, its V19 fitness tracker offers exclusive sleep pattern monitoring capabilities, with the dual systems of electrocardiography (ECG) and photoplethysmogram (PPG) to obtain accurate data on heart rate variability (HRV) continuously and efficiently. Built on the IP68 waterproof standard, the smart watch can detect real-time blood pressure and blood oxygen. The product comes with three color options of black, red and blue.
V08Pro fitness tracker holds a detachable wireless earbud that supports audio call by dual Bluetooth 5.0 and AAC decoding technology through a 12mm speaker. Without fear of losing the earbud, the user can put it back into the bracelet after the call and continue with the workout. On the 0.96-inch IPS display, the “smart assistant” records the user’s heart rate, step count and his distance walked, not to mention organizing the message alerts. The magnetic charging takes one to two hours to complete and the battery can sustain for five days.
