Veteran Hong Kong singers George Lam and Sally Yeh open up about their 29-year marriage as they prepare for a five-night concert series in October.
George Lam, 77, and Sally Yeh, 63, are gearing up for their highly anticipated five-night concert series, titled WE ARE ONE, set to take place in Hong Kong Coliseum this October.
The couple, married for 29 years, recently shared rare insights into their personal lives during media interviews while promoting the upcoming performances.
Despite their long-lasting marriage, Lam and Yeh revealed that their personalities and daily habits differ significantly.
Lam prefers a quiet environment for rest, while Yeh enjoys late-night television and computer use, which has occasionally led to playful disagreements about noise levels.
Lam once suggested Yeh use headphones to watch TV, but she found the idea impractical.
To maintain harmony, the couple decided to sleep in separate rooms, with Lam residing upstairs and Yeh downstairs in their home.
The singers also shared that Lam is particular about his personal belongings, setting clear boundaries that even Yeh respects.
On one occasion, Yeh attempted to tidy Lam’s drawer, only to learn it was a sensitive area for her usually easygoing husband.
Since then, she has been careful not to cross that line, highlighting their mutual respect for each other’s quirks.
