Executive Council convener Regina Ip Lau Suk-yee praised Law for her innovative and proactive work as former Permanent Secretary for Housing and Director of Housing, such as combating against Well-off Tenants in public housing; and expressed approval of Chan for handling railway-related matters well.
She also noted that with the Three Runway System in operation and the future development of Hong Kong as a logistics hub, the appointment of two young and motivated women is promising.
Ip refrained from commenting on the performance of the two dismissed former secretaries Lam Sai-hung and Kevin Yeung Yun-hung, but appreciated their contributions during their tenure.
Roundtable lawmaker Michael Tien Puk-sun described Lo as proactive, detail-oriented, and data-driven, expressing high expectations for her as the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau will play a key role in promoting the mega event economy and high-end tourism.
Tien also suggested that Chan review current railway plans, which he believes have overlapping routes, urging the government to balance infrastructure convenience with cost-effectiveness.
