The Editorial Board of the university’s students’ union shared on social media recently that it received video evidence from an anonymous individual alleging a current executive committee member of UG Hall I of consuming marijuana inside the dormitory.
The 18-second video clip shows a student grinding what appears to be marijuana in their room. Additionally, several packages suspected to contain the processed marijuana and drug paraphernalia can be seen from the footage.
Commenting on the incident, the university reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards any illegal activities.
It said the school has since enhanced patrols and urged students to remain vigilant and abide by the law and regulations.
However, they did not respond to speculations about the involvement of executive committee members of the residential hall or whether they would report the incident to the police for further action.
