Drinks carton recycler succeeds in yearlong struggle to relocate recycling plant

Mil Mill, the SAR's only drinks carton recycler, announced on Facebook Wednesday that it has successfully secured a new location in the territory to relocate its recycling plant.

The recycler was notified by Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corp last year that its lease in Yuen Long will not be renewed, only allowing them a six-month lease extension until end-June as a buffer for them to search for a new location.

The recycler said today that the Hong Kong Science Park has agreed to further extend its lease by three months to allow them to relocate and hopefully achieve a seamless transition.

It did not name the new location, but noted that the new plant will be more spacious and “require two hours of commute to get to work”.
