Tired of borrowing bulky travel books from the library? Gather all the travel info you need about this summer by heading to the International Travel Expo!
Boasting a large array of pavilions ranging from local to popular overseas destinations, the International Travel Expo (ITE) 2023 will put on show a plethora of updated traveling information and special promotional offers. The Expo will be held from June 15 to 18 in halls 1B-1E of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. In addition to an array of performances, seminars, photo booths, workshops, theme displays, and specially designed pavilions, visitors can also sample and experience travel fun spanning different cultures to satiate their pent-up travel appetite.
As Hong Kong’s one-and-only travel expo, the ITE 2023 will be showcasing around 400 exhibitors from 50 countries and regions in and beyond Asia. Statistically, around 30% of them are new, according to organizer TKS Exhibition Services Ltd.
These newcomers include not only independent exhibitors, but the official pavilions and stands of international tourism boards – including Australia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Czech, Germany, Iceland, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Poland, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Ras AL Khaimah of UAE and Vietnam.
Remarkably, the pavilion of mainland China will be about 1.5 times the scale in comparison to pre-pandemic years – it’s the largest pavilion in the ITE. With co-exhibitors from some 20 Chinese provinces, the pavilion of mainland China will be presenting exclusive offers to help visitors plan within their budget. Visitors can even enjoy the legendary Lion Dance from Foshan as well as performances listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage!
Also expanding its scale to pre-pandemic level are the official pavilions from Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea. Specifically, the pavilion of Macao will feature over 40 co-exhibitors.
Make sure to snap some photos at these pavilions, as they are all expertly-designed and Instagrammable! The Japanese pavilion includes around 25 booths from ten prefectures and other independent exhibitors, some of which will bring in mascots. As for Thailand, visitors can meet and greet well-known travel influencer Roger Wu in its pavilion or seminars this year.
St. Petersburg, which joined the ITE for the first time in 2022, is coming back with other new Russian exhibitors! Also from the far north and famous for aurora are Yellowknife in northern Canada and Iceland. Nepal and Sabah of Malaysia are coming back to ITE this year to introduce a variety of top attractions to visitors, both with their first presence in ITE since the pandemic.
As per the ITE tradition, what catch everybody’s eyes each year are the special displays of various travel themes. This year, there are two separate displays from the winners of the School Adventure and Study Tour Route Design competition. Additionally, there will be two special displays: one focusing on Hong Kong In-depth travel, covering “Craftsman & Old Shops”, “The City’s Sky Mirrors” and more; another spotlighting “The Greater Bay Area”.
Visit the ITE for booking and plan your holidays this summer! Visitors can learn more at presentations, trade and public seminars, cultural performances, photo booths and special displays on travel themes ranging from Eco and Sport Tourism, Study Tours to In-depth Travels, and plenty more.
