Civil servants who have recovered from Covid-19 will need to resume work even if they test positive again, according to the latest guidelines updated by the government on Friday.
The Civil Service Bureau updated the guidelines today and said recovered civil servants who test positive again through either PCR tests and rapid antigen tests will go to work as normal without being viewed as confirmed patients or close contacts.
Fully vaccinated civil servants who catch Covid can resume work after they test negative on the sixth and seventh day following their infection.
Those who have received one dose and the unvaccinated will have to resume work after testing negative on the 14th day following the infection. They could resume work only if they test negative.
Some civil servants worried that patients who catch Covid for the second time can still infect others with the disease and pose cross-infection risks to both colleagues and citizens.
Others challenged that sending civil servants infected with Covid again back to work will help spread the virus.
