Eddie Chu disbands his team of district councilors

Former lawmaker Eddie Chu Hoi-dick has disbanded his team in New Territories West which includes nine district councilors. 

Chu is currently detained for participating in the 35+ primary election. 

In the announcement it said that the team has been serving residents of New Territories West since 2016 and even ran for the district council election in 2019, in which nine members were elected. 

However, Chu is now involved in six criminal cases, including one related to subversion under the national security law. Chu believed that he would remain in detention for a long time, and decided not to participate in politics in the future. 

Chu, after discussion with his team members, decided to disband the team, and said he will always remember the times spent fighting alongside his team members.
