District Councillor Daniel Wong Kwok-tung was arrested by national security police officers around 6.10am this morning, and was being detained at the Sha Tin police station at the moment.

According to reports, Wong was accused of aiding the 12 Hongkongers in a bid to flee to Taiwan.
The pro-democracy lawyer was brought back to his District Council members' ward office shortly this morning for investigation.
Officers were said to have also arrested another seven men and three women, aged between 18 to 72 years.
Willis Ho Kit-wang, former deputy secretary-general of Hong Kong Federation of Students, wrote on her Facebook page that her mother was arrested this morning and taken to Tsuen Wan police station.
