It is the first Taikoo Li development in the Greater Bay Area.
Taikoo Li Julong Wan Guangzhou, which is also Swire’s first riverside Taikoo Li development, is located in the Bai’etan area in Guangzhou’s Liwan district, a vital hub in the Guangzhou-Foshan integration strategy.
The overall development is set to be completed in phases, with the first phase expected by the first half of 2027. Before its completion, exhibitions, events, pop-up shops and activities will be held from late 2025 to activate the area, the British developer said.
"The naming also makes Guangzhou the second city after Shanghai to host both our acclaimed Taikoo Li and Taikoo Hui branded developments," said Han Zhi, Swire Properties' director of retail.
Taikoo Li Julong Wan Guangzhou is expected to revitalize the historic Julong Wan area with a planned gross floor area of approximately 150,000 square meters.
The project is jointly developed by Swire and Guangzhou Pearl River Enterprise Group, with the British firm holding a 50 percent interest in the development.
Swire has vowed to invest HK$100 billion in the GBA and is seeking more opportunities in the region.
