Hong Kong’s men’s épée squad delivered a strong showing at the National Games fencing competition on Monday, with all three home fencers advancing to the round of 32 at the Kai Tak Arena at Kai Tak Sports Park.
Anson Ng Ho-tin led the team’s performance with five wins from six pool bouts to secure his place in the knockout rounds. He is set to face teammate Cedric Ho Wai-hang — who posted three wins from five pool matches — in an all-Hong Kong clash for a spot in the last 16.
The third Hong Kong representative, Fong Hoi-sun, also progressed comfortably and will meet Shandong’s Ma Xiao in his round-of-32 matchup.
