A male bus passenger was left disgusted after discovering a used pantyliner stuck below a window during his journey, prompting a wave of criticism on social media.
The man shared photos of the incident, saying he only noticed the item after sitting down. He described the sight as “extremely disgusting” and questioned whether the person responsible had hoped it would go unnoticed or be cleaned up by others.
According to the post, the incident took place on Route 38, heading towards Lam Tin, on the upper deck of the bus.
He said the post was intended to raise awareness, urging people to dispose of personal hygiene items properly.
“Wrap it in tissue and throw it away — it’s basic,” he wrote.
The post quickly drew widespread reactions, with many netizens expressing shock and disbelief. Some said they could not imagine how someone could change or dispose of such items while on a bus.
Others condemned the act as unhygienic and inconsiderate, calling it “disgusting” and a sign of poor public manners.
Some users speculated whether the item had been misused for other purposes, such as absorbing sweat, but many dismissed the idea, saying the item appeared to have been used and improperly discarded.
A few commenters also shared similar past experiences, recalling encounters with used sanitary products left in public transport, describing them as shocking and unacceptable.
