Endowus vouches for tech over AI

While the world has been going crazy about AI, Gregory Van, chief executive of Singapore's largest digital wealth platform Endowus, says he does not believe AI can really excel in investments.

After all, AI is created by human beings. Instead of AI, the firm uses technology to conduct an evidence-based assessment towards performance and fee of funds.

As such, he said Endowus can offer funds cheaper than any broker or bank as it is independent from fund managers, while other fund distributors, such as banks, are driven by commission.

The platform charges customers 0.1 percent to 0.6 percent fee per annum based on the investment value. Investors can invest as little as HK$10,000 and it can recommend fund according to one's risk appetite and goal.

Having attracted more than 100,000 clients, Endowus has assets under advice of US$5 billion (HK$39 billion). The firm plans to launch an investment symposium in Hong Kong in April.
