Nights out to take less of a toll

Friday nights in the festive season mean savings for taxi drivers and their passengers for they need only pay a HK$25 toll instead of HK$58 when using the Tai Lam Tunnel every Friday next month and January.

The promotion is to support the Hong Kong Night Vibes campaign and to help revitalize the SAR's nightlife.

So on every Friday between 8pm and 11pm in December and January (December 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, and January 5, 12, 19 and 26) taxis with passengers paying by cash can enjoy the discounted toll at manual tollbooths.

The tunnel's private operator, Route 3 (CPS), said in announcing the deal: "Taking a taxi is faster and more comfortable when traveling to the urban areas through the Tai Lam Tunnel. The promotion will surely double up on happiness."
