More young users can enjoy more convenient transactions in both brick-and-mortar stores and online platforms as individuals aged 13 are able to apply for Wallet Plus on the Octopus app. The e-wallet also facilitates easy record tracking and expense management, fostering healthy savings habits.
Existing Octopus Wallet Lite users aged 13 or above will be automatically upgraded to Wallet Plus upon completing a quick and easy identity verification. With the upgrade, young users can activate the prepaid Mastercard and UnionPay QR with just a few taps and can top-up their Octopus Wallet and Octopus Card through the Faster Payment System, and transfer money to friends' physical Octopus cards.
