Weibo bans Blackpink'sLisa , Angelababy

Weibo shut the accounts of a K-pop superstar and a Chinese actress with more than a hundred million followers, the latest scrutiny entertainers are facing there.

No explanation was given for the Weibo bans on Blackpink's Lisa and Chinese actress Angela Yeung Wing aka Angelababy, pictured. But speculation on social media points to a move by Angela to attend a show by Lisa at Crazy Horse Paris. The visit to the burlesque club known for risque performances and scantily clad dancers faced backlash from prurient members of society at a time when President Xi Jinping is cracking down on celeb fan culture.

Both will no longer be able to post on Weibo due to a "violation of laws and regulations." Their Douyin account is also blocked. Lisa's Weibo account is also fully down.

Photos posted on social media by fans show Angela in and out of Crazy Horse, though she has yet to comment. Crazy Horse's Instagram, said she wasn't in attendance.

"JoannBlue," on Weibo said performances "disrespects and objectifies women."
