Two key partnerships 'important leap forward' in HKUST bid to establish medical school

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology has announced a collaboration with two local private medical institutions in its bid to establish the city's third medical school.

The two institutions are HKSH Medical Group and Hong Kong Adventist Hospital.

HKSH is set to offer short-term clinical courses and practicum opportunities for students, along with staff exchanges and joint research. HKAH will provide clinical rotations and co-develop educational programs, with its global network boosting teaching quality with international instructors.

HKUST president Nancy Ip Yuk-yu said: "These partnerships reflect our shared commitment to advancing the future of healthcare in Hong Kong and represent an important leap forward in our journey to establish the city's third medical school."
