HKU's Vitogram lands Swiss gold award

The University of Hong Kong's Vitogram has been honored with the Gold Medal with congrats from the jury at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in Switzerland held in April.

Led by HKU, the Laboratory of Data Discovery for Heath (D24H) developed this digital health solution, by which users can effortlessly analyze their heart sounds by placing their mobile devices on their chest.

It offered an integrated AI-enabled platform for collecting and analyzing heart data using smartphones, thereby facilitating telemedicine and self-monitoring.

Lead Scientist, Professor Joshua Ho Wing-Kei, said, "We developed Vitogram to make heart health monitoring more accessible.

"We are excited that the innovation and societal benefit of our AI-based solution is recognized by the jury."

The exhibit, featuring an array of 1,035 inventions, has drawn interest from over 24,000 participants from around the globe during the five-day event.
