It's time for Hongkongers to show their creativity with Ocean Park looking for a name for its female crocodile, which was found in Lin Fa Tei, Pat Heung last year. After obtaining a possession license and ownership approval from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, Ocean Park wants a name that is meaningful and memorable.
The crocodile, measuring about 1.9 meters in length and weighing 35 kilograms, was transferred from the AFCD to Ocean Park in April last year. It is reckoned to be four years old.

"Hong Kong does not have native crocodiles, making the naming of this crocodile significant," it was noted. "The chosen name will serve as a reminder of the potential harm that introduced or invasive species can inflict upon local biodiversity."
From today until the end of the month, people can offer suggestions that will also earn them tickets to get up close to the creatures, food and beverage vouchers, and four annual Ocean Park memberships.
