Link-up provides meals for the poor

Free veggie lunch boxes are on the way for those in need.

Sino Group and the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation have joined hands with the Pei Ho Charity Foundation to provide 2,000 boxes every month. This is in the spirit of Ming Gor's social enterprise Pei Ho Counterparts.

The organizations launched a six-month meal donation program in 2021.

This year they have linked again to support the opening of a vegetarian restaurant, Veggies Lotus, set up as a Community Canteen in Tuen Mun.

The canteen will provide 2,000 free boxes every month to those in need.

Chan Cheuk-ming, the founder of Pei Ho (Ming Gor) Charity Foundation, said: "I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Sino Group and the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation for supporting the Community Canteen concept.

"I hope we can encourage small businesses in other districts to join as community canteens by sharing our experience."
