The successful launch of the Shenzhou-23 spacecraft will inspire Hong Kong youth to join the nation’s aerospace sector, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said on Wednesday.
Spokesman Chen Binhua said the milestone, which marked the deployment of Lai Ka-ying as Hong Kong's first astronaut on May 24, represents a shared pride for the nation.
Chen noted that Lai’s space journey and perseverance would encourage young people in Hong Kong to pursue careers in the aviation and aerospace sectors, highlighting that central government backing offers broad opportunities for individual development.
