A four-month-old boy was left in a coma after collapsing in a flat at Tsz Oi Court in Tsz Wan Shan on Wednesday (Mar 18), with his 32-year-old father arrested on suspicion of child neglect.
Police said the father reported the incident at about 3pm, saying his son collapsed inside a unit at Oi Cheung House. Paramedics found the boy unconscious and rushed him to Caritas Medical Centre before transferring him to Princess Margaret Hospital for further treatment.
Initial investigations indicated the father had earlier left the boy and his three-year-old daughter alone at home. He was arrested on suspicion of ill-treatment or neglect of a child.
The father is being detained for questioning, while the cause of the boy’s collapse remains under investigation.
