Among the exhibitors were over 10 mainland education institutions and student dormitory operators, which attracted many parents and students from the mainland to explore housing options.
These student dormitories, located near schools with convenient transportation, are promoted as featuring a variety of amenities and activities.
One participating exhibitor noted that they currently run two student dormitory projects in Yau Ma Tei and Kowloon Tong, providing about 250 beds.
They also described a growing number of mainland students in recent years and are planning to add at least 250 more beds within the year.
"Many education agencies have been asking us about the availability of dormitories in Hong Kong," said student dormitory operator Jiang Jiawen. "The demand is very high because there is a continuous flow of students coming from the mainland to study."
She pointed out the rental difficulties students face, as they are often unfamiliar with the city and worry about being deceived by landlords, which leads them to prefer renting from formally-run student dormitories.
