Worker dies after electrocution on boat in Aberdeen

A 62-year-old worker died on Wednesday after being electrocuted while working on a boat in Aberdeen the previous day.

The incident occurred around 2.30pm on Tuesday off Shek Pai Wan Road near the Fisheries Office. The man, surnamed Chau, was working on a vessel when he reportedly suffered an electric shock and fell unconscious.

Paramedics rushed him to Queen Mary Hospital, but he was pronounced dead after 16 hours of treatment.

According to sources, Chau was a worker on an engineering vessel. He had boarded a smaller fishing boat to use a water pump when the accident happened. Colleagues used a third vessel to assist and called for help. No one else was injured.
