Fire at North Point subdivided flat forces 30 to flee

A fire broke out in a subdivided flat in North Point early on Thursday, prompting around 30 residents to evacuate.

Emergency services received reports of a blaze on a lower floor of Wharf Mansions on Wharf Road at 3.04am. The fire alarm activated, awakening residents in the building.

Firefighters arrived and deployed one hose and one breathing apparatus team to tackle the flames. The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished.
