Water pipe bursts in North Point, 10-metre geyser hits traffic

A water pipe burst on Tin Hau Temple Road in North Point early on Monday, sending a 10-metre-high water jet across both carriageways and disrupting traffic.

The pipe burst around 4.40am near Summit Court, with water gushing from the ground and spraying across the westbound and eastbound lanes. Police cordoned off the area and closed some westbound lanes.

Vehicles were forced to use nearby metered parking bays to pass, with single-lane two-way traffic in operation. The Water Supplies Department was called for repairs.
