Police arrested six more people – three men and three women – on Wednesday in an ongoing investigation into forged calibration certificates submitted for the Princess Margaret Hospital expansion project.
The latest arrests target directors and employees of sub-contractor Novox Ltd, bringing the total number of detainees to nine. All were detained on suspicion of using false instruments and remain in custody.
Kowloon West crime unit is investigating after reports were received between December 9 and 17 that a sub-contractor had submitted suspected fake documents for the hospital and other urban development projects.
Officers searched an industrial building in Fo Tan and the homes of those arrested on Tuesday, seizing suspected fake documents and related instruments.
The Hospital Authority said certificates for vibration monitoring equipment were submitted by main contractor China Railway Construction Group, which had received them from Novox. Checks found the documents were not issued by the named calibration company.
