The enhancement measures include streamlining the application process to allow companies and qualified talent to submit quota and visa/entry permit applications simultaneously.
They also exempt restrictions that require engagement in 14 designated technology areas to better address the rapidly changing I&T landscape.
Additionally, a dedicated application channel has been established for the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park to provide one-stop assistance for talents and incubatees in application and follow-up action.
The commission said these measures aim to support companies' research and development activities in Hong Kong, bolster the local talent pool, and advance the city's innovation and technology development.
Launched in June 2018, the scheme provides a fast-track process for admitting overseas and mainland technology talent, granting successful companies quotas to employ specialists for R&D work.
