Fire breaks out at To Kwa Wan jewelry shop altar during prayer ritual

A small fire erupted on Friday afternoon at a tourist-oriented jewelry store in To Kwa Wan when staff accidentally ignited items on a shrine while performing a religious ritual.

The fire occurred at the entrance altar around 3pm today, and the staff tried to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher but failed.

Firefighters then arrived at the scene to extinguish the blaze with a water jet within 20 minutes.

​No one was injured in the incident.
