A man attempted to kill himself by consuming rat poison in Diamond Hill on Sunday night while also urging his teenage daughter to join him, though unsuccessful.
Police received reports at around 9pm that the man in his 40s had taken rat poison inside a unit at Fung Tak Estate's Toi Fung House. He had reportedly tried to persuade his daughter to consume the substance as well.
Both father and daughter remained conscious and were transported by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
Police have classified the case as attempted murder and transferred it to Wong Tai Sin district crime squad for investigation.
The man reportedly has a history of mental health issues.
