Head-on collision in Sha Tin sends minibus onto pavement, 7 injured

Seven people were injured in a head-on collision between a green minibus and a private car in Sha Tin on Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred around 9.14am on A Kung Kok Street when the minibus route 810 collided with a private car heading towards Ma On Shan.

The impact caused the minibus to mount the pavement, crashing into a bus stop and railings before finally coming to a stop.

The six passengers and the minibus driver all sustained minor injuries and were conscious when transported to Prince of Wales Hospital.

On-site photos showed significant damage to the front of both the minibus and the private car. 

 Cheng, the driver of the private vehicle, recounted, "Neither of us were speeding, but the minibus suddenly veered off."

He stated that he attempted to swerve clear to avoid the crash, suspecting the minibus had not braked in time.

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
