Officers spotted the suspicious private car near the intersection of Hong Ning Road and Ngau Tau Kok Road around 8pm, noting its abnormal movement as it nearly hit roadside railings. The driver appeared lethargic, prompting police to stop the vehicle for inspection.
A search revealed over 100 bags of various drugs including cannabis and etomidate contained in plastic bags, reusable bags and a backpack inside the car.
The suspect, who works in construction, was unable to stand without support from two officers during his arrest. He told police the vehicle belonged to a friend but admitted the drugs were his personal property, suggesting he was preparing to make deliveries.
No injuries or property damage were reported. The drug's street value and whether the driver was under substance influence remain under investigation.
